Under “Patient Portal Access,” you can assign a User Name to the patient, and select the “Patient Login” check box so that the patient is provided access to the Patient Portal. Please make sure that a valid e-mail is provided in the Contact Details.
When sending patient forms to patient portal users, you can change the To Do recipients. When you configure patient forms for patient portal users, you can select the users who should receive To Dos when the patients fill up and send the forms.
Note: Providing Patient Portal access to the patient is one of the criteria to increase numerator for “Core 7a: Patient Electronic Access-Patient Portal Access” of MU-2. Please refer to the above section in Meaningful Use Stage – 2 User Guide for more details.
